Contemplating slowly changing landscapes: poetic, contemplative, meditative Diorama offers a glance to the post-human condition in the landscape of the Anthropocene. As H. G. Wells would put it, what is it that remains at the end of it all? An indescribable experience in the landscape of the seafront of Attica.

Diorama: contemplating slowly changing landscapes. Contemplation, reflection, introspection. Norwegian Ingri Fiksdal is well known for her large-scale choreographic interventions in public space, apart from her stage choreographies, in which she explores the post-human in the Anthropocene era. Her performances have a strong visual character that visually generates questions about the relationship between humans and the urban and natural landscape. Diorama places indeterminate figures of great visual power in parts of the city where water meets land. She uses the transformation of the landscape through choreography as a lens through which she attempts to affect the gaze, using the experience of art to provoke questions about the aftermath: what is our responsibility for the future of the planet? The word “diorama” was used by Louis Daguerre for a visual experiment of the early 19th century. Igri’s team collaborates with performers from the host country and the work is different each time. The Athenian version will be presented on the coastal front, on the Sculptured Quay of Flisvos, offering a new visual character to the magnificent sculpted landscape of Nella Golanda overlooking the Saronic Gulf.

Ingri Fiksdal is a choreographer based in Oslo. In 2019 she completed her PhD in artistic research at the National Academy of Arts in Oslo, with the project Affective Choreographies. The focus of her research was to explore choreography as a means of finding eclectic affinities through the development of specific choreographic methods. Her recent works also include: STATE (2016), Shadows of Tomorrow (2016) and Cosmic Body (2015). She has toured in Norway as well as in Europe, in the USA and China. From 2016 to 2020, the artist was supported by the apap-Performing Europe 2020 network (Creative Europe).
